What is MouldCheck?
The MouldCheck kit enables you to carry out a precise check on the levels of mould in the air within the rooms of your house. It is important to check that your home is in good health particularly if you suffer from Allergies or conditions like Asthma.
How Does It Work
The kit includes a laboratory prepared petri dish filled with an agar specifically formulated for the growth of mould species. The dish is placed in a room for one hour, sealed and left for 3 days. Then you simply count the number of colonies to check the levels within your rooms. The dish comes with full instructions and we offer full technical support with any queries.
Can I test Multiple Rooms?
If you want to test more than one room in your home, you can save by purchasing the Mouldcheck Twin Pack or Mouldcheck Triple Pack and save up to £4.00 which works out cheaper than buying the units in singles and will enable you to check the air quality in as many rooms as you wish.
Why should I check the Mould Spore levels in my Home?
Mould spores are one of the most common triggers of Allergic reactions in the UK. All households have mould spores to some extent, and if you are lucky then you are not affected by them. However, for a huge number of people mould spores cause allergic reactions such as a runny nose, sore throat, itchy eyes, sneezing, coughing and respiratory discomfort. In some individuals it can also lead to skin irritation.
Prolonged exposure can include symptoms of dizziness, lethargy, fever, digestive problems and flu like symptoms
But I have never seen any mould in my house!
You cannot see airborne mould spores, they are invisible to the naked eye. Only a specific laboratory prepared testing kit like MouldCheck can accurately assess the level of spores in the home and give you the ammunition you need to act accordingly based upon the facts.
What should I Do With The Results?
If the test indicates that you have fairly low spore levels, then you can relax and assume that any allergy symptoms you suffer from are more likely to be aggravated by other common allergens like Dust Mite Feces, Pollens or Pet Dander etc and so you may benefit from using a room air purifier specifically designed to filter out those types of particle.
On the other hand, should the test indicate your home has particularly high mould spore levels, then there is every chance that these are aggravating your allergy symptoms. Rooms with high mould spore levels would benefit most from a specialist air purifier like an Airfree which actually targets and destroys the spores better than any other purification method. Airfree air purifiers are independently proven to reduce the mould spore count in your room and destroy over 99.99% of micro organisms, including virus and bacteria.
