PM2.5 Air Pollution, Particles & Air Purifiers.
The unrelenting demand for air purifiers which can cope with the PM2.5 particle size range may still be driven primarily by the serious air pollution in China, however the effects are being felt throughout the whole of Europe as air purifier manufacturers struggle to keep up with the demand from Chinese consumers eager to purchase high quality air purifiers from the UK and have them urgently shipped over. In Beijing for instance the primary pollution sources include exhaust emission from more than five million motor vehicles, coupled with coal burning in nearby regions and local construction dust. In early 2013 there was a particularly severe smog attack which engulfed the city for weeks and really elevated awareness of the problem not just in China but across the whole of Europe.
Filtering out the PM2.5 Particle in your home.
The PM2.5 particle, which has now become a bit of a buzz word in relation to air quality in these regions, is not actually difficult to filter out, as long as the air purifier chosen has a HEPA filter inside and a powerful enough fan to be able to draw the offending particles into the filter quickly enough. For instance, if the PM2.5 particles are arriving into your living space more quickly than your air purifier is able to 'hoover' them up, then the purifier will never win the war, no matter how good the filter inside the purifier is. As a rule of thumb, you want to ensure that whichever air purifier you choose is capable of recirculating ALL of the air in YOUR room size through the filter at least once every twelve to twenty minutes. At this rate you will be filtering the PM2.5 particle quickly enough to keep its levels way below any problematic exposure levels.
