Air Quality Sensor Smart Mode
The new Smart Sensor feature automatically adjust the air purifier's settings to deal with new pollution as and when it arrives by adjusting the filtration strength to suit. We do have other units with this feature but these tend to be a lot more expensive and it is great to see this really beneficial feature being added to one of the less expensive models now.
'Quiet' Mode and Ultra Low Energy Consumption
Two of the most frequently asked questions we get here at Breathing Space are 'How much does it cost to run?' and 'How quiet is it?' The good news is that where the Winix P150 is concerned we can happily say that it costs very little to run and unlike most air purifiers in this price range, it is very nearly silent on its quiet mode. In fact when running in quiet mode it consumes only 4 watts of energy which is quite amazing. Even in turbo mode (which you can use to really purge a room quickly) it still uses only 40 watts of power.

One of the most important yardsticks to consider when choosing any new air purifier is just how quickly it will filter out pollutants. The new Winix P150 has been independently certified by AHAM, which is the industry's world recognised body for comparing and testing air purifier CADR (Clean Air Delivery Rates). Tests prove the new P150 will fully purify the air in rooms up to 15 square metres once every 12 minutes. That means 5 complete air changes every hour (Many non specialist air purifiers found on the High Street in places like Argos or John Lewis only provide around 1-2 air changes per hour). Even in rooms up to 20 square metres, the P150 will still provide a very healthy 3.5 air changes per hour.
