There's a particular kind of cold that sets in on a winter evening, when the heating's gone off and you don't fancy putting it back on just to watch the end of a film. This is what the Dimplex Cosy Heated Throw is for.
It's made from very soft fleece backed with sherpa, so it feels lovely even before it warms up. Once you switch it on it warms up quickly, and there are nine heat settings. You can have a gentle bit of comfort or proper toasty warmth, whatever the evening calls for.
You can also stop worrying about whether you left it on. There's a timer that runs for up to nine hours, and the throw switches itself off automatically, so nodding off on the sofa is allowed. Overheat protection is built in as well, which is a nice bit of extra reassurance if it's going on a relative's bed or chair.
It costs pennies to run. Dimplex puts it at around 4p an hour, so warming yourself rather than the whole house can make a real difference to winter bills.
When it needs a wash, just unclip the controller and cable and put the throw in the washing machine.
Dimplex has been keeping British homes warm for decades, and this is a lovely example of what they do best.
