For maximum performance, Blueair recommends a room of around 32 m², where the T20i will clean the air approximately four times every 12.5 minutes. In a room of 78 m² it will complete a full air change roughly every 30 minutes, and in a room of 156 m² it will do so once per hour. Does the T20i cool like an air conditioner?
No. The cooling function draws room temperature air through the unit and distributes it via dual jet-stream outlets. It circulates and moves air rather than reducing the ambient temperature, and is not a substitute for air conditioning.
Is the air purified when the unit is in heating or cooling mode?
Yes. In all three modes the air passes through the HEPASilent filter before being returned to the room.
How often does the filter need replacing?
RealTrack Technology calculates filter life based on actual fan speed, usage hours and pollution levels. The filter replacement LED turns red when a change is needed. Under typical conditions, filters last between six and nine months.
Are there any safety features on the heat function?
Yes. The T20i includes automatic overheat protection that cuts the heat mode if it has run continuously for more than 24 hours, if the unit is not sitting upright, or if internal temperatures exceed expected limits. An anti-tip sensor turns the unit off if it falls over.
