Cooking fumes, cleaning sprays, fresh paint, synthetic fabrics — they all release Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) into the air in your home. Low levels, perhaps, but persistent ones. The Odour & VOC replacement carbon filter for the Leitz TruSens Z-3000 and Z-3500 is specifically built to deal with exactly this kind of invisible, everyday contamination.

This is the carbon element of your Z-3000's Odour & VOC filter drum — the component that does the heavy lifting against gases and smells. It fits inside the HEPA drum filter and works alongside it, intercepting odours and airborne chemicals before they reach the HEPA stage. Three layers of activated carbon pellets give it an unusually high capacity for trapping common VOCs including formaldehyde, ammonia and acetone Leitz — the kind of compounds that off-gas quietly from household products day in, day out.

The mesh prefilter on this unit is fixed (rather than removable) and can be wiped clean with a damp cloth as needed. The carbon itself should be replaced every three months or so — your purifier's indicator light will turn red when it's time, so you won't need to guess. The HEPA drum it pairs with should be replaced annually Leitz, and the two components are sold separately, meaning you can replace just the carbon on its schedule without touching the HEPA.

A note on compatibility: This carbon filter is designed specifically for use with the Odour & VOC HEPA drum filter for the Z-3000 and Z-3500. It is not interchangeable with the standard, Pet, or Allergy & Flu carbon filters — those use different carbon formulations and drum configurations. Always replace like-for-like to maintain filtration performance.
